PAST EVENTS

The UIC World Congress on High Speed Rail is renowned worldwide as the most prominent and large-scale global event on High speed rail. Every two years, the Congress addresses strategic issues linked to the national and international development of High speed rail systems.

During the Congress high level speakers and participants meet to consider and discuss all issues linked to High speed rail development. This includes political and strategic planning, innovative financing solutions, technological innovations, energy and carbon balance, standards and interoperability, safety and security management, research, trends in commercial concepts and services, and partnerships.

The high attendance, around 1,000 High speed rail professionals, from all continents, has demonstrated among others the influence of High speed rail experts on decision-makers.

Participants include political decision-makers at a national and local level, representatives of governments, international institutions, key economical/financial/environmental organizations, financial institutions, industry research centers, universities, the global High speed rail supply industry and the international press.

Every two years, International Union of Railways brings the cutting edge of High Speed Rail Technology under the spotlight at its World Congress on High Speed Rail and Trade Exhibition. This event serves as the meeting point for the leading minds in the High speed, who represents a wide variety of interests including the public and private sectors (local, national and international authorities), as well as High speed rail technology and its equipment manufacturers, contractors, systems integrators and service providers.

UIC HIGHSPEED 2018

International Union of Railways and Turkish State Railways organize the 10th UIC World Congress on High Speed Rail from 08 to 11 May 2018, in Ankara.

The main theme of the Congress will be "Sharing knowledge for sustainable and competitive operations"

The Congress will be organized around 3 main blocks: sessions, trade exhibition and technical visits.

Numerous plenary and parallel sessions will revolve around the most significant technical, economic and social streams. In addition, two round tables will give participants the opportunity to interact and exchange knowledge.
